Description

The Second Engineer is responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer in the operation and maintenance of the ship's machinery and ensuring the safety and efficiency of engine room operations.

Responsibilities

Assist the Chief Engineer in managing the engine department and ensuring all machinery operates efficiently.
Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment as per the planned maintenance schedule.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in the engine room operations.
Monitor the performance of machinery and report any irregularities to the Chief Engineer.
Maintain accurate records of engine room operations and maintenance activities.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or related field.
3-5 years of experience in marine engineering or a similar role.
Knowledge of engine room machinery operations and maintenance procedures.
Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in maritime operations.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Good communication skills and teamwork capabilities.
