Job Summary:

The Seam Welder is responsible for operating seam welding machines to join metal parts along a continuous seam or joint. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and an understanding of welding procedures to ensure consistent weld quality and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate seam welding machines to join sheet metal or components according to blueprints, specifications, or work orders.
• Set up welding machines by adjusting welding pressure, timing, and electrode positioning based on the type and thickness of material.
• Inspect materials before and after welding to ensure alignment, proper weld penetration, and absence of defects.
• Perform basic maintenance on welding machines, such as cleaning electrodes and replacing worn parts.
• Monitor the welding process and make real-time adjustments to optimize performance and output quality.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, machine settings, and any issues encountered.
• Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with quality control, engineering, and maintenance teams as necessary.
• Keep the work area clean and organized to promote efficiency and safety.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding or metal fabrication preferred.
• Previous experience operating seam welding machines or other automated welding equipment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and machine operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift and move materials up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs] as required.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing or fabrication shop setting.
• Exposure to heat, noise, welding fumes, and metal dust.

Opportunities for Advancement:

With experience and additional training, Seam Welders may progress to roles such as Welding Technician, Lead Welder, Fabrication Supervisor, or Quality Control Inspector.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹180,000.00 - ₹250,000.00 per year
