Job Description

The Scrum Master is the keeper of the Scrum Process. You will work with the teams to help increase their productivity by teaching and upholding the process throughout the lifecycle. Your responsibility includes helping to remove barriers from the teams and organization. Your focus will be on the development team(s) to ensure the teams and organization meet delivery objectives in the most productive manner possible. Your role involves working towards improving the team(s), the organization, and the process. To be eligible for this position, you should have at least 5 years of experience working in software development, with a minimum of 1 year in an Agile/Scrum environment. You should have experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that diligently applied Scrum principles, practices, and theory. A degree in BE/BTech/MCA is required for this role. Your skill set should demonstrate a solid understanding of the agile methodology and processes. You should be able to guide a team through Agile Estimation and relative story pointing exercises. Your responsibilities will also include guiding the team on self-organizing within the Agile/Scrum frameworks, assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization, and coaching them to higher levels of maturity. You will be involved in removing impediments and building a trusting and safe environment for issue resolution. Facilitating discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution will be part of your daily tasks. You will assist with internal and external communication, transparency improvement, and information sharing. Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially regarding grooming and maintaining the product backlog, is crucial. Knowledge of Agile techniques such as User Stories, BDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, and Automated Testing is essential. Preferred skills and experiences include having a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification, knowledge of other Agile approaches like XP, Kanban, FDD, and applicable knowledge of the team's technologies. Experience in applying a variety of patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps in the Scrum approach is beneficial for this role.
