Job Description

A Resident School Staff Nurse plays a vital role in maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff within a residential or boarding school environment. The position requires round-the-clock availability, combining clinical nursing responsibilities with pastoral care.

Job Purpose

To provide comprehensive health services to students and staff by managing medical facilities, offering first aid, ensuring routine health checks, and coordinating with doctors or hospitals as necessary.​

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid and medical care for minor injuries and illnesses among students and staff.​
  • Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medical records.​
  • Monitor chronic conditions and manage emergencies on campus, including hospital referrals if required.​
  • Support residents’ overall well-being by supervising hygiene, rest, and nutrition practices.​
  • Maintain the school infirmary, ensuring equipment, medicines, and supplies are stocked and sterile.​
  • Conduct preventive health education sessions on nutrition, hygiene, and infection control.​
  • Collaborate with school administration and parents on health-related concerns or emergency cases.​
  • Serve as an on-call responder during nights/weekends for boarding students.​

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong clinical and first-aid knowledge, including CPR certification.​
  • Ability to handle confidential medical information and maintain accurate health records.​
  • Excellent communication and empathy to support children and adolescents effectively.​
  • Organizational skills to coordinate care, health awareness programs, and reporting.​

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. Nursing degree with active registration from the Nursing Council.​
  • 2–3 years of clinical or school health experience preferred; experience in a boarding school is an advantage.​

Typical Work Conditions

  • Resident within the school premises with on-call duties during term time.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
