Role Summary

The School Principal is the academic and administrative head of the institution, responsible for providing visionary leadership, ensuring academic excellence, maintaining discipline, managing staff, and fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment aligned with the schools vision and board guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Lead academic planning, curriculum implementation, and assessment as per board norms
  • Ensure effective teaching-learning processes and continuous academic improvement
  • Monitor lesson plans, student performance, and teacher effectiveness
  • Promote innovative teaching practices and use of educational technology

Administration & Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day school operations and ensure smooth functioning
  • Ensure compliance with CBSE/ICSE/State Board regulations and inspections
  • Manage school policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Ensure safety, discipline, and well-being of students and staff

Staff Management

  • Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain teaching and non-teaching staff
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, trainings, and performance reviews
  • Foster a collaborative and professional work culture

Student Development

  • Ensure holistic development of studentsacademic, social, emotional, and ethical
  • Address student discipline issues and grievance redressal
  • Encourage co-curricular and extracurricular activities

Parent & Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication
  • Handle parent concerns professionally and effectively
  • Represent the school in community forums and official meetings

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to school growth strategies, admissions planning, and branding initiatives
  • Implement quality improvement measures and school development plans

Qualifications & Experience

  • Masters degree in Education or relevant subject (B.Ed./M.Ed. preferred)
  • Minimum

    812 years

    of teaching and administrative experience in a school
  • Prior experience as Vice Principal / Headmistress / Academic Head preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of board regulations and educational best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively
