School Nurse

As a School Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to provide direct care to students and promote health and wellness within the school community. Your duties will include: - Providing immediate first aid and emergency care for injuries and illnesses. - Administering prescribed medications and treatments following physician orders and school policies. - Managing students with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, seizures, and allergies. - Assessing and monitoring students" health status and promptly reporting any concerns to parents/guardians and school administration. - Maintaining accurate and confidential health records. Additionally, you will be responsible for: - Developing and implementing health education programs for students and staff on topics like hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, and safety. - Checking students" hair and nails regularly. - Offering health counseling and support to students. - Educating staff on health-related topics and emergency procedures. In collaboration with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other school staff, you will address students" health needs and ensure a healthy school environment. Your administrative duties will include maintaining health records, managing medication administration, developing school health policies, and assisting with necessary tasks. To qualify for this role, you should have: - Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the relevant state. - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Current certification in CPR and First Aid. - Knowledge of school health policies and procedures. - Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. - Vigilant, proactive, patient, and calm demeanor. - Knowledge of electronic health record systems. - Ability to think and act promptly during emergencies. Please note that this position may require physical requirements such as standing, walking, sitting for extended periods, lifting moderately heavy objects, and performing CPR as needed.,
