Satellite Engineer (Asset Management)

Job Description

Role & responsibilities Optimization of the capacity for the assigned satellites (on fleet and off fleet) to enable sales to meet their revenue targets Advise on resources availability for assigned satellites and approve resources Proactive analysis of regrooming options and reconfiguration of satellites, including transition of off fleet services into on fleet to reduce cost of third-party assets Proactive approach to resolving any identified potential contention for assigned satellites to determine if there are alternative fleet resources that can meet the needs of all involved customers to maximize revenue. Escalate contention and drive the resolution Contribution to planning for the integration of new assets to facilitate high utilization rate Preferred candidate profile Engineering bachelors degree (Masters preferred) or demonstrable equivalent work experience in lieu of formal qualifications 5 years professional experience with 3 or more years in capacity management and/or optimization of satellite or terrestrial networks Technical knowledge of platform technologies, satellite technology, satellite network operations and earth stations are a plus
