Role Overview

SAP FICO Consultant

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP FICO Solution Design & Configuration

• Lead end-to-end solution design for

  FI & CO modules

  : GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Banking, Automatic Payment Program (APP), Product Costing, CO-PA, and Financial Closing Cockpit.
• Conduct

  Fit-Gap Analysis

  , prepare

  Blueprint documents

  , and finalize process scope with business stakeholders.
• Configure enterprise structure, master data, financial processes, tax procedures, and payment architectures.

2. Implementation & Project Delivery

• Drive

  S/4HANA implementation projects

  (Greenfield, Brownfield, Public Cloud, and On-Premise).
• Own project phases such as

  Explore, Realization, Cutover, Data Migration

  , and

  Hypercare

  .
• Lead and manage

  testing cycles

  Unit, Integration, UAT, Regression.
• Work closely with technical teams to design Extensibility/ RICEFW objects, including interfaces (IDocs, APIs, BAPIs), enhancements, and reports.

3. Data Migration & Integration

• Define data migration strategies for

  GL, AP, AR, AA, CO objects

  .
• Leverage

  SAP Migration Cockpit, LSMW

  for legacy data conversion.
• Work on cross-system integration using

  IDocs, RFCs, Webservices, flat-file interfaces

  .

4. Finance Process Ownership

• Lead Finance transformation programs transitioning from legacy systems to

  SAP S/4HANA

  .
• Ensure accounting compliance, month-end/year-end closing processes, and alignment with IFRS/GAAP where applicable.
• Drive process standardization across business units.

5. Banking & Payments

• Handle Payment lots, refunds, bank integrations, MT940/BAI2 formats. (SAP Advanced Payment Management- APM/BCM experience preferred)
• Configure

  , search strings, posting rules, and payment jobs.
• Support Treasury-related integrations as FX integration.

6. Stakeholder Management & Leadership

• Interact effectively and impactfully with CFO/ Finance Teams
• Lead functional teams, assign tasks, oversee delivery quality, and manage timelines.
• Conduct workshops, training sessions, and serve as the primary FICO SME for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (MM, SD, PP, PM, HR, Basis, Security).

7. Support & Change Management

• Manage incidents, change requests, problem tickets, and enhancements.
• Perform root-cause analysis and provide optimization for recurring issues.
• Prepare functional specifications, test scripts, SOPs, and training materials.

8. Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years

  of strong hands-on experience in

  SAP FI & CO modules

  .
• Minimum

  4–5 end-to-end S/4HANA Implementations

  (Greenfield/Brownfield).
• Strong expertise in AP, AR, GL, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, EBS, CO, and Costing.
• Solid understanding of

  integration points

  with MM, SD, PP, PM.
• Experience working with

  Public Cloud / Private Cloud

  is mandatory.
• Proficiency in RICEFW/ Extensibility design, interface mapping, and data migration methodologies.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to lead teams and interact with CXO-level stakeholders.
• SAP FICO or S/4HANA certification preferred.
