SAP BASIS Senior Consultant

Job Title: SAP BASIS Support Consultant S/4HANA (8+ Years Experience)

Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• System Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and manage SAP S/4HANA systems across various landscapes.
• System Maintenance & Upgrades: Perform system upgrades, apply kernel patches, and ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
• Scheduled Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance tasks such as system refreshes for quality, sandbox (SB), and business simulation environments.
• System Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor system logs and optimize scheduled jobs, cleanups, and background processes to maintain system health.
• Proactive System Management: Implement proactive measures to ensure high availability and minimize downtime.
• User & Role Management: Administer user accounts, ensuring proper authorization and access controls in compliance with the organization's Segregation of Duties (SoD) policies.
• Change Management Compliance: Adhere strictly to organizational change management processes for all system changes.
• Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Conduct root cause analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting for system issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Database Administration: Manage and monitor the SAP database for performance, backup, recovery, and tuning.
• Network & Security Administration: Oversee network connectivity, SAP security settings, and system firewall configurations to ensure secure operations.
• Operating System Administration: Perform OS-level tasks related to SAP system performance and stability.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and external vendors to support and optimize SAP landscapes.
• Workload Balancing & Critical Period Support: Manage system workload and resources efficiently during critical business periods such as year-end closing.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery Management: Plan, execute, and validate backup and restore procedures, including disaster recovery strategies.
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in SAP BASIS administration, especially with SAP S/4HANA systems.
• Expertise in system installation, configuration, upgrades, kernel patching, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of SAP security, authorization concepts, and SoD compliance.
• Experience with database management (Oracle, HANA, SQL Server, or DB2).
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux and Windows in SAP environments.
• Proven track record in managing SAP landscapes with high availability and disaster recovery planning.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure during critical business cycles.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to liaise with cross-functional and external teams.
