Sap Basis Consultant

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• SAP Basis Administration:

• Manage SAP Basis tasks including system performance troubleshooting, system refresh, and restore/recovery.
• Execute SAP NW upgrades, Unicode conversions, and downtime optimization for export/import migrations.
• Perform SAP S/4 HANA conversions from any database using DMO (Database Migration Option) and nZDM/ZDO technologies.
• Handle SAP migration activities ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

• Oracle Database Management:

• Perform administrative tasks for Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) including installation, upgrade, cloning, patching, backup, and restore.
• Execute routine DBA tasks such as health checks, troubleshooting, and installations.
• Upgrade Oracle databases from versions 11g to 19c or the latest versions as required.
• Apply necessary patches (Tech Stack Patches, DB Patches, CPU, PSU) based on all supporting products.

• Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting:

• Review application databases to identify performance bottlenecks and resolve issues.
• Fine-tune concurrent processing for large EBS environments.
• Conduct health checks and performance analysis of database and applications using OEM.
• Utilize Shell scripting for database and application performance enhancement.

• SAP HANA Administration:

• Oversee SAP HANA installation and administration, as well as performance optimization.
• Conduct detailed analysis using HANA Mini checks and EWA reports.
• Assist in HANA integration with Solution Manager and Focused Run.
• Manage HANA High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) setups.

• Miscellaneous Database Management:

• Administer Sybase IQ as a Near Line Storage solution.
• Support DB2 database management including system copy and HA/DR configuration.
• Execute system copies and monitor DB logs for various databases (Oracle, HANA, SAP ASE).

• Cloud Technologies (Preferred):

• Basic understanding of cloud concepts, specifically Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Support the migration of SAP systems to cloud environments while utilizing downtime optimization techniques.

Required Skills:

• Database Technologies:

• Strong expertise in Oracle (11g, 12c, 19c) and SAP HANA administration.
• Good knowledge of PL/SQL and SQL, along with database wait events.
• Understanding of monitoring tools and performance analysis methodologies.

• Tools & Technologies:

• Experience with SAP Basis components and architecture.
• Familiarity with shell scripting and performance tuning methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in SAP Basis and Oracle Database management are a plus.

Preferred Certifications:

• SAP Certified Technology Associate.
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) for Oracle Database.
