SAP Basis Consultant

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily SAP system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, etc.).
• Handle SAP transports, client copies, and system refreshes.
• Monitor and manage SAP HANA or traditional databases (Oracle/MS SQL), in collaboration with DBAs.
• Apply support packages, kernel upgrades, and system patches.
• Support user administration, roles, and authorizations in SAP environments.
• Work with SAP OSS to resolve system-related issues.
• Participate in SAP implementation and migration projects.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams on backup, DR, and system availability.
• Document SAP technical configurations, operational procedures, and issue resolutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Around 45 years of experience in SAP Basis administration.
• Hands-on experience with SAP NetWeaver components and architecture.
• Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and/or Suite on HANA environments.
• Experience with system monitoring tools and SAP Solution Manager.
• Familiarity with SAP security concepts (roles/authorizations).
• Basic understanding of operating systems (Linux/Unix/Windows) and database platforms (HANA, Oracle, MS SQL).
• Experience with handling transport management and system copies.

Nice to Have

• SAP Certified Technology Associate (Basis or HANA).
• Exposure to SAP upgrades, migrations, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience in high-availability environments and disaster recovery planning.
• Knowledge of scripting for automation (Shell, Python, PowerShell).
• Exposure to SAP Fiori, SAP BTP, or hybrid SAP landscapes.
