As the Sales Support Engineer, you will be working with a team of Territory Managers and Key Account Managers in the SA Region with specific focus on serving the authorized distributors & end customers in meeting their needs. You will namely be focusing on understanding the challenges, requirements and needs of the customers, either directly or working with the distributors, in the expertise area of filtration in relations to maintenance and Total Cost of Ownership, training and education them at the same time. In this process, you will be working to impart knowledge and prepare the most appropriate solutions for the customers. At the same time, you must possess business acumen, and technical knowledge/aptitude to support the internal team, distributors and end customers. A good knowledge of filtration and/or engine is a must. In summary, you are needed to educate the customers, advocate our solutions and support creation of business opportunities. Key Accountabilities Identify the essential accountabilities of the role (5-6) and their purpose. It should NOT be a list of tasks that the jobholder must perform. Instead it should be a description of the duty areas and each duty typically refers to a number of tasks. Identify the key performance measurement criteria which should be quantitative and qualitative Technically support Territory Managers and Key Accounts Managers to solve complex problems related to engine filtration and clean solutions in the field Secure sales growth by formulating solutions/proposals to end customers to solve their complex filtration problems, both in air and liquid filtration Effectively train and support, distributors and end-users in product knowledge, applications to market Donaldson products/solutions Implement and execute field service strategy to assist the region to achieve or exceed annual sales and profit goals Support and focus on all Donaldson market initiatives, both existing and new Trouble shooting at customers site to determine root causes and then to design and offer solutions to customers Continuous feedback of industry trends happening at the end customer level Continually evaluate and provide feedback on authorized distributors in area of improvement to promote Donaldson and support our branding in the market Conduct complex product trial on critical equipment to win customers confidence Support customers with value-add activities. Eg. Extend service interval, upgrade of air cleaner, additional fuel filtration etc Work with product management team to develop new products to meet customers’ needs Key Qualifications & Requirements Specific academic or professional qualifications/experience/competence necessary for this position Education Qualification: Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Civil or Chemical Engineering, or its equivalent. Prior training on mechanism of filtration and diesel engine is must Technical Competence & Skills: Must be technically inclined with ation and Application Engineering experience in a related industry. Possess knowledge and experience in air & liquid engine filtration/Hydraulics/fluid power/biodiesel preferred Equipped with working experience related to diesel engine heavy equipment in mining and/or construction market. Acquired hand-on knowledge and experience in customizing solutions to customers to solve specific maintenance/operations challenges Demonstrates achievement of development and sales success. Strong sales aptitude with excellent communication and organization skills. Strong mechanical/technical aptitude, and the ability to learn new technologies through product-driven training programs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) & CRM KEY WORDS: Sales Engineer, hydraulics, fluid power, filtration support, travel. Leadership Competence: N/A Relevant Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of technical experience in manufacturing and/or engineering environment. Minimum 3-5 years of field sales engineering experience in a relevant field. Others (% of travel, language, etc.): Effective written and verbal skills in English Language are mandatory. Ability to travel up to 60% of the time. Financial Figures Indicate the financial contribution for the positions under different job family. Support achieving SA Engine Annual Business Goals. Support achieving any other specific SA Engine Growth Initiatives.
