Job Description

The Sales Officer is responsible for achieving sales targets, managing distributor/retailer relationships, expanding market presence, and ensuring effective implementation of company sales strategies. This role is field-intensive and requires strong execution capabilities, market knowledge, and people management skills

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Target Achievement:

Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly primary and secondary sales targets.

Drive growth across assigned territories through channel development and market expansion.

2. Channel & Distribution Management:

Appoint and manage distributors, stockists, and sub-stockists.

Ensure distributor ROI, inventory levels, and order generation.

Coordinate stock planning, delivery, and payment collections.

3. Retail Execution:

Increase numeric and weighted distribution.

Ensure visibility, availability, and placement of SKUs at retail outlets.

Implement planograms, product displays, and trade schemes effectively.

4. Team Supervision (if applicable):

Guide and support sales representatives, merchandisers, or promoters.

Conduct market working with team members to coach and improve performance.

5. Market Intelligence:

Monitor competitor activities, pricing, promotions, and market trends.

Share timely feedback with management for tactical decision-making.

6. Reporting & Compliance:

Submit daily market visit reports, sales data, and beat plans.

Ensure adherence to sales processes, policies, and compliance norms.

Key Requirements:

Any Bachelors degree, Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or any relevant field (MBA preferred).

3–5 years of experience in FMCG front-line sales.

Strong understanding of FMCG distribution channels (GT/MT/Rural).

Good negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently in field with high ownership.

Proficient in MS Excel, sales reporting tools, or apps like Bizom/SFA.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Achievement of sales targets (Primary & Secondary).

Outlet coverage and distribution expansion.

Growth in active retail universe.

Trade partner engagement and satisfaction.

Timely reporting and claim submission.
