Job Description

Sales Manager API Catalyst Recovery and Sintered Systems

Role Purpose

Lead Gopani's sales efforts in API and chemical plants for catalyst recovery and sintered metal filtration systems, focusing on hydrogenation and other critical filtration applications to improve recovery, uptime, and process efficiency.

Key Products and Solutions

- Sintered metal filter elements and housings.

- Automatic and manual backwash filtration systems.

- Custom internals and assemblies for hydrogenators and reactors.

- High-temperature and high-pressure filtration solutions.

- Associated services such as trials, audits, and performance studies.

Primary Customer Profiles

- Process and project engineers in API and chemical plants.

- Production and plant heads responsible for key units.

- Consultants and EPCs involved in designing API facilities.

- Technology licensors or process consultants where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and prioritise API and chemical plants with hydrogenation or catalyst-heavy processes.

- Engage with process engineers to understand current filtration and recovery pain points.

- Coordinate trials and pilot studies with internal engineering support.

- Build business cases around improved recovery, reduced downtime, and lifecycle savings.

- Work with consultants and EPCs to specify Gopani systems in new projects.

- Maintain a strong opportunity funnel for both projects and MRO business.

- Develop reference cases and success stories for catalyst recovery solutions.

Candidate Profile Education and Experience

- B.Tech in Chemical, Mechanical, or related engineering is preferred.

- 410 years of experience in process equipment, filtration, or technical sales into API or chemical plants.

- Hands-on exposure to hydrogenation, slurry handling, or catalyst-related processes is a strong plus.

- Ability to work closely with internal engineering teams on technical proposals.

- For senior roles, experience with high-value project and solution selling is important.

- Solution-selling mindset focused on value and ROI, not only price.

- Patience and persistence with long sales and project cycles.

- Strong documentation and follow-up discipline for trials and projects.

- Ability to travel to industrial locations and work independently.

- Order booking and revenue from sintered and catalyst recovery solutions.

- Number of successful trials converted into full-scale implementations.

- New API or chemical accounts opened and developed.

- Project pipeline value and progression across stages.

- Repeat business and expansion of scope within existing plants.

Travel and Location

Frequent travel to API and chemical plants, often in industrial clusters (3060% travel). Some visits may involve remote locations and extended stays.
