Job Overview

Sales Manager General & Life Insurance

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Sales

  • Promote and sell a range of

    Life Insurance

    products (Term, ULIP, Endowment, Child, Retirement & Pension Plans) and

    General Insurance

    products (Health, Motor, Property, Travel & Liability Insurance).
  • Conduct client meetings, product presentations, and financial need analyses to identify suitable solutions.
  • Generate new business opportunities through direct sales and channel development.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.

2. POS Advisor Recruitment & Management

  • Identify, recruit, and train POS advisors to create a strong distribution network.
  • Monitor performance, provide coaching, and motivate advisors to meet individual and team sales goals.
  • Conduct ongoing training sessions on product knowledge, sales skills, and regulatory requirements.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers to generate repeat business and referrals.
  • Ensure seamless servicing of policies including issuance, renewals, and claim support.
  • Provide prompt resolution of customer queries and maintain a high level of service satisfaction.

4. Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to

    IRDAI

    regulations and internal company policies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate MIS reports, including sales performance, advisor recruitment, and market analysis.
  • Uphold ethical sales practices with complete transparency and professionalism.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • In-depth understanding of both

    Life and General Insurance

    products and market dynamics.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Customer-centric approach with problem-solving ability.
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and business-driven mindset.
  • Sound financial acumen and consultative selling skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate in any discipline;

    MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred.

  • 3–6 years of experience

    in Life and/or General Insurance or BFSI sector.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and managing advisor networks.
  • Experience in POS recruitment, channel development, and cross-selling insurance products.
