1) Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
2) Safety Training and Education: Conduct regular safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientation, to promote awareness of safety practices and protocols.
3) Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Conduct routine inspections and risk assessments of the plant premises to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to eliminate or minimize risks.
4) Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, or near misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
5) Safety Audits and Compliance: Conduct regular safety audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal safety policies. Provide guidance and support to departments to address any non-compliance issues.
6) Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuation protocols, first aid procedures, and crisis management strategies.
7) Safety Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, near misses, and corrective actions. Generate reports for management review and regulatory compliance as required.
8) Safety Committee Participation: Act as a liaison between management and safety committees, facilitating communication and collaboration to address safety concerns and implement improvements.
