Safety Officer - Pune ( Real estate - Civil industry )

Role & responsibilities

1. Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Carry out risk assessments and recommend preventative measures to mitigate identified risks.
• Ensure that site-specific risk assessments are updated as necessary.

2. Safety Compliance & Regulation

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, as well as company-specific safety policies.
• Keep up-to-date with new legislation and maintain a register of site activities in accordance with legal standards.

3. Training & Development

• Conduct safety induction programs for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Organize and conduct safety training sessions for site workers on topics like fire safety, equipment handling, and emergency procedures.

4. Accident Investigation & Reporting

• Investigate incidents, accidents, or near-miss occurrences and prepare reports with corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain an accident report register and follow up on any required medical or legal procedures.

5. Emergency Preparedness

• Develop and implement emergency response plans in coordination with site management.
• Organize regular drills for fire, medical emergencies, and evacuation procedures.

6. Documentation & Record-Keeping

• Maintain records of safety inspections, risk assessments, and safety drills.
• Ensure that all documentation is readily available and up-to-date.

7. Collaboration with Management & Site Teams

• Work closely with project managers, contractors, and on-site workers to foster a culture of safety.
• Provide recommendations on safety practices and improvements, and ensure effective communication of safety protocols.

8. Safety Equipment Maintenance

• Ensure the availability and proper maintenance of safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, PPE, first aid kits, and emergency alarms.

Preferred candidate profile

* Diploma in Fire and Safety, ADIS

* Minimum 2 years experience

* Experience in Real estate

* Can handle invidiously site ( Project )

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
