Job Description

Dear candidate, We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations at our plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of plant safety operations, greenhouse gas management, and incident/accident investigations. This role also involves providing safety training to employees and supporting the implementation and maintenance of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) including QMS, EMS, and OHS. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations relevant to plant operations. Implement and monitor plant safety protocols and conduct routine inspections to identify and mitigate hazards. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; perform root cause analysis and ensure timely corrective actions. Deliver safety training, inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency preparedness drills to all staff and contractors. Track and report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions; support initiatives to reduce environmental impact. Support the implementation and continual improvement of IMS (QMS, EMS & OHS) standards and participate in audits. Maintain safety documentation, including risk assessments, training records, and compliance reports. Assist in developing and updating HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices. Monitor proper usage and availability of PPE and safety equipment across the plant. Coordinate with regulatory bodies and participate in external safety audits and inspections. Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement and recognition of safe behavior. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety or equivalent qualification. Experience: 3-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment. IMS Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Integrated Management Systems (QMS, EMS & OHS). Skills: Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices. Proficient in incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques. Effective communication and training skills. Competency in reporting, documentation, and safety data analysis. Desirable Attributes: Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, or other safety-related disciplines is a plus. Working knowledge of environmental compliance and sustainability reporting. Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative in approach.
