Safety Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor site-specific safety management plans.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements under the Electricity Act, Indian Factories Act, and relevant safety standards (IS/IEC/NBC codes).
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions.
• Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessments for all electrical works.
• Ensure proper Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures before energizing or de-energizing equipment.
• Monitor use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety induction, and refresher training for site workers.
• Promote awareness on electrical hazards (shock, arc flash, fire risks) among workforce.
• Report, investigate, and document all accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
• Coordinate emergency drills, including fire and electrical accident response.
• Maintain first-aid and fire-fighting readiness at site.
• Maintain site safety records (inspection checklists, permits, training registers).
• Ensure proper implementation of Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for high-risk electrical jobs.
• Submit daily/weekly safety reports to Project Manager/HSE Manager.

Key Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, codes, and statutory regulations.
• Education: Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Safety Certification: Diploma in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / IOSH (Required).
• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in safety role, preferably in electrical infrastructure projects (transmission, distribution, substations, or electrification works).

Pay: Up to ₹50,000.00 per month
