Job Summary: To ensure a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety policies, conducting training, auditing safety practices, and ensuring compliance with statutory and industry-specific regulations, especially related to electrical and manufacturing hazards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Knowledge of conducting Toolbox Talks effectively. 2. Familiar with statutory safety documentation and legal compliance requirements. 3. Certified in First Aid , with the ability to respond to medical emergencies on-site. 4. Coordinate shop floor EHS activities, including safety inspection rounds and follow-up on findings until closure. 5. Responsible for conducting safety training sessions on topics such as PPE usage, basic safety awareness, accident prevention, and fire safety, including demonstrations. 6. Conduct and facilitate Safety Committee Meetings at regular intervals. 7. Maintain accurate records related to MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), accident reports, and corrective actions taken. 8. Assist in or provide specialized training sessions on environmental, health, and safety topics to company personnel. 9. Prepare and submit various internal and external safety reports required by regulatory agencies. 10. Maintain documentation and filing systems as per the requirements of statutory authorities and regulatory bodies . 11. Identify and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of safety incidents. 12. Ensure all necessary safety equipment and personal protective gear are available, maintained, and used by personnel. 13. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks of safety equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards. 14. Emergency Response Preparedness : a. Develop and maintain emergency response plans for situations like fire, electrical hazards, and workplace injuries. b. Organize and conduct emergency drills and training exercises . 15. Documentation and Reporting : a. Maintain comprehensive records of safety incidents, inspections, and follow-up actions . b. Prepare and submit safety performance reports to management and applicable authorities. 16. Safety Communication : a. Serve as a point of contact for safety-related queries and concerns from employees and stakeholders. b. Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging the reporting of unsafe conditions or potential hazards. Qualifications: Education: Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Safety (preferably with ADIS/PDIS from a recognized institute). Experience: 25 years in a safety role within an electrical equipment manufacturing or industrial setup. Certifications: NEBOSH / IOSH (preferred). Knowledge: Electrical safety protocols, EHS regulations (Factory Act, BIS norms, IEC/IS standards), incident investigation techniques. Skills: Excellent observation, analytical, communication, and documentation skills. Proficient in MS Office and safety audit tools. Workplaces: Regularly field visits or vendor inspections be required.
