Safety Coordinator

Job Purpose:

To ensure a safe working environment at Chakan Plant 1 by implementing and monitoring safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety and compliance across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Implementation

- Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures in line with company and regulatory standards.

- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national safety regulations (including OSHA and ISO standards).

Training & Awareness

- Organize and lead safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors.

- Promote safety awareness through campaigns, toolbox talks, and visual management.

- Maintain training records and ensure timely refreshers.

Incident Management

- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses.

- Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

- Maintain incident logs and safety performance metrics.

Coordination & Communication

- Liaise with department heads and HR to ensure safety integration across functions.

- Conduct safety committee meetings and represent the plant in external safety forums.

- Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and response plans.

Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and safety equipment.

- Ensure availability and proper functioning of PPE and safety gear.

- Stay updated with industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Preferred candidate profile

- 35 years of experience in industrial safety, preferably in a manufacturing setup.

- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, hazard identification, and risk mitigation.

- Proficient in MS Office and safety management systems.

- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
