Your responsibilities include preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort Key Responsibilities: Radiopharmaceutical Preparation: Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, following strict safety protocols and procedures Imaging Equipment Operation: Operate gamma cameras, PET scanners, and other nuclear medicine imaging equipment to capture images and data Patient Interaction: Explain procedures to patients, obtain medical histories, and ensure patient comfort and safety during examinations Image Acquisition: Position patients for imaging, calibrate equipment, and acquire images according to the physician's instructions Radiation Safety: Implement and follow radiation safety guidelines and protocols to protect patients, staff, and oneself Data Analysis: Analyze and process imaging data, collaborating with physicians to interpret results Quality Control: Perform routine quality control tests and maintenance of imaging equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results Patient Records: Maintain accurate patient records, documenting procedures, dosages, and other relevant information Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate imaging procedures and assist in patient care Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest developments in nuclear medicine technology and maintain licensure and certifications Patient Education: Educate patients about the procedures, including any potential side effects or restrictions Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and maintain licensure and certification requirements
