About Retail Portfolio Management Group
The Retail Portfolio Management Group (RPMG) plays a strategic role in managing the bank's retail receivables, with a sharp focus on loss containment, cost efficiency, and portfolio sustainability. Through advanced analytics, technology-driven processes, and close collaboration with Credit, Risk, and Product teams, RPMG ensures risk-calibrated policy execution.RPMG engages delinquent customers with multiple repayment solutions and financial counselling, promoting responsible credit behaviour and long-term financial health. This approach aligns with the bank's overarching Growth, Profitability, and Sustainability (GPS) strategy, positioning RPMG as a key contributor to operational resilience and financial performance.
About the Role
Role Purpose: To manage the life cycle of Assets repossessed by the bank, ensuring to maximize Financial Recovery, Regulatory and Legal compliance, supporting Operational Risk Management, bringing new Tools and Technologies, reducing expenses by safeguarding the bank's financial interests, and contributing to sustainable and responsible banking practices. .
Key Responsibilities
1.Collateral Monitoring, Asset Evaluation and Disposal:
.Tracking and Monitoring of underlaying collaterals repossessed by the bank..Conducting valuation of Repossessed Assets..Assess the condition and value of assets to determine appropriate disposal methods..Choose disposal methods such as resale, or scrapping based on asset type and condition.2.Compliance and Risk Mitigation:.Ensure all disposal activities comply with internal policies and regulatory standards..Ensure compliance to pre and post disposal customer communication framework..Ensure TCS and GST accurate calculation and collection of appropriate dues to comply with regulatory norms..Collaborate with legal teams to clear legal impediment and develop liquidation strategies..Implement data security measures for digital asset disposal to prevent breaches..Analyze risk events and establish adequate controls.3.Operational Oversight and efficiency:.Coordinate physical inventories and reconcile records of assets in stock..Manage sales through auction partners and support internal audits..Maintain accurate documentation of all disposal activities..Visit to vendors and conduct periodic audit to enforce compliance..Bring new tools and software to asset disposal unit to reduce human intervention and strengthen E2E process.4.Stakeholder Engagement:.Work closely with core collection team, auditors, and certified disposal vendors..Review and monitor performance of vendors engaged in asset disposal activity..Provide regular updates to senior management and relevant committees on asset status and disposal outcomes1.5.Data Analysis:.Analysis of repossession and disposal data, preparing cuts, dashboards..Generate reports on financial impact, compliance status, and debt recovered from disposal activities.
6.Post sale support:
.Support to buyers and internal team to handle post sale related queries and concerns.
Qualifications
.Bachelor's or higher degree preferably in Technology/ Commerce from any recognized universityRole Proficiencies:1.Asset Lifecycle Management:a.Expertise in handling repossessed assets from acquisition to final disposal.b.Ability to assess asset condition, market value, and disposal options.2. Financial Acumen:a.Strong understanding of collateral values and recovery optimization.b.Ability to forecast recovery potential and minimize losses.3. Regulatory & Legal Compliance:a.Knowledge of banking regulations, RBI guidelines, SARFAESI Act, and other relevant laws.b.Ability to ensure compliance in documentation, disposal methods, and audit trails.4. Operational Risk Management:a.Proficiency in identifying and mitigating risks related to asset handling, fraud, and data security.b.Experience in implementing controls and monitoring mechanisms.5. Technology & Tools Adoption:a.Familiarity with asset tracking systems, disposal platforms, and digital auction tools.b.Ability to leverage data analytics and automation for process efficiency.6. Vendor & Stakeholder Managementa.Skills in coordinating with external vendors, legal teams, and internal departments.b.Ability to manage contracts, SLAs, and performance metrics.7. Process Optimizationa.Experience in streamlining workflows to reduce turnaround time and operational costs.b.Ability to implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.8. Documentation & Reportinga.Proficiency in maintaining accurate records, MIS reports, and audit documentation.b.Ability to present insights and trends to senior management.9.
