Job Description

Performance Expectations

  • Ensure complete coverage of all technical requirements within the design scope.
  • Meet delivery milestones and deadlines according to project quality and scheduling targets.

Responsibilities

Project Engineering

General:

  • Apply standard product catalogues and engineering processes using the appropriate tools.
  • Prepare and participate in design reviews with suppliers or internal engineering teams.
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables from internal teams and suppliers.
  • Manage technical aspects of assigned sub-systems, including performance, lifecycle, and interface requirements.
  • Ensure application of standard design rules in coordination with platform, sourcing, and engineering teams.
  • Support manufacturing sites when needed for critical technical matters.
  • Report project progress through meetings and regular documentation.
  • Manage assigned work packages, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate across teams to resolve technical issues during the detailed design phase.
  • Participate in customer technical meetings when requested.

Product Engineering

For engineers owning a specific product or architecture:

  • Propose annual plans for sustaining activities such as second sourcing, obsolescence management, cost reduction, or redesign.
  • Drive the execution of approved sustaining plans.
  • Maintain the product catalogue with up-to-date performance and quality information.
  • Collect and document lessons learned and improvement opportunities.

Problem Solving

  • Support engineering leads in addressing technical issues that arise during later project stages or after system delivery.

Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) & Reporting

  • Provide project-level reporting to engineering leads through KPIs and regular updates.
  • Support risk mitigation activities, change management, and continuous QCD improvement.
  • Contribute return-of-experience data for use in reference solutions and future projects.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 4 to 10 years of experience in product development within automotive, aerospace, rail, or heavy industries.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and share results across teams.
  • Experience designing and developing passenger interior components such as galleys, lavatories, sleeper cabins, berths, or accessibility-focused systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-oriented mindset and ability to manage technical interactions.
  • Well-structured, organized, and capable of hands-on problem solving.
