Retail Account Executive

As an Accountant specializing in retail operations, your responsibilities will include: - Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts specific to retail operations, such as inventory, sales, and cost of goods sold (COGS). - Monitoring daily retail sales and cash receipts to ensure accurate recording in the accounting system. - Reconciling point-of-sale (POS) systems with accounting software and bank deposits. - Preparing and analyzing financial statements related to retail performance. - Tracking inventory levels and collaborating with store managers to ensure alignment between physical counts and recorded inventory. - Assisting in the month-end and year-end closing processes. - Monitoring and reporting on key financial metrics like gross margin, shrinkage, and turnover rate. - Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities for retail divisions. - Ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting principles. - Coordinating with external auditors during audits, particularly for retail-related items. Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a retail environment. - Strong understanding of inventory accounting and POS systems.
