As a Resident in Emergency Medical Services, you will work under the guidance and supervision of experienced EMS professionals to gain practical experience and training in pre-hospital emergency care
This position is designed to provide hands-on learning and exposure to the field of emergency medicine
Responsibilities:Respond to emergency medical calls, providing basic and advanced life support as directed by senior EMS personnel
Assist in the assessment and treatment of patients in various emergency situations, including trauma, medical, and cardiac emergencies
Safely operate and maintain EMS vehicles and equipment
Administer medications and perform medical procedures as permitted by local protocols and under the guidance of senior staff
Document patient information and care provided in a clear, accurate, and timely manner
Assist in lifting and moving patients safely, considering their medical condition and injuries
Maintain and clean medical equipment and ensure the readiness of the ambulance and supplies
Participate in regular training, continuing education, and skills development sessions
Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as agency policies and protocols
