On September 15, 1956, the Parliament of India passed an act known as the Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur) Act, declaring this Institute as an Institute of national importance. IIT Kharagpur was also given the status of an autonomous University and has since grown to include about 27 academic departments and schools, and 7 centres of excellence. The campus spans over 2100 acres and is a self-contained township with over 15,000 inhabitants. Currently, the campus houses approximately 600 faculty members, 1700 employees, and 10,000 students.
This is a full-time on-site role located in Kharagpur for a Research Associate in Hydraulics and Coastal Engineering in a DST funded project. The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting research in hydraulics and coastal engineering, analyzing data, preparing reports and publications, and assisting in the development of research proposals. The role involves collaboration with other researchers and faculty, as well as participation in fieldwork and laboratory experiments.
