Release Engineer / Manager

The role of Release Engineer at Mondelz International offers an exciting opportunity to manage and coordinate software release activities for the o9 platform. As a Release Engineer, you will be responsible for handling incident management related to releases, collaborating with various teams to plan and execute releases, and ensuring transparency and alignment by preparing and maintaining the release calendar. Your role will involve automating release processes and deployment pipelines to enhance efficiency and reduce risks, as well as monitoring release progress, identifying potential risks, and communicating issues proactively to stakeholders. It is essential for the Release Engineer to document release procedures, configurations, and post-release reviews, support root cause analysis for release-related incidents, and implement preventive measures. Continuous improvement of release management practices and tools to enhance quality and reliability is a key aspect of this role. Identifying opportunities to automate and improve the release process and implementing best practices for release management are also crucial responsibilities. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with proven experience as a Release Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role. A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management best practices is required. Experience with release orchestration tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines is essential, as well as familiarity with incident management processes and tools. Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are necessary. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are also important qualifications for this role. Preferred skills for the Release Engineer position include experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, knowledge of o9 practices and CI/CD pipelines, familiarity with the o9 platform or similar enterprise planning software, scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation, and knowledge of cloud platforms and containerization (e.g., AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
