Relationship Officer - Merchant Acquisition

A Relationship Officer for Merchant Acquisition isresponsible for finding, onboarding, and managing new merchant clients to expand a company's business. Key duties include prospecting for new merchants, pitching and selling payment solutions (like POS machines) and other services, and overseeing the entire onboarding process from initial contact to final setup. The role requires strong sales, communication, and relationship-building skills to meet sales targets and ensure high merchant satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Merchant acquisition:

  Actively seek out and acquire new merchant clients through prospecting, networking, and following up on leads to grow the customer base.

• Sales and promotion:

  Promote and sell the company's products and services, such as payment processing solutions and point-of-sale (POS) systems, to potential and existing clients.

• Onboarding:

  Manage the onboarding process for new merchants, ensuring a smooth transition, timely documentation, and proper setup. This includes checking original documents and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.

• Relationship management:

  Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with merchants by understanding their needs and providing ongoing support.

• Sales target achievement:

  Meet and exceed daily, monthly, and annual sales revenue targets.

• Market analysis:

  Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and the company's own product offerings to identify new opportunities and refine strategies.

• Data and reporting:

  Maintain accurate records in CRM systems, track the performance of acquired merchants, and generate reports to recommend improvements.

• Issue resolution:

  Address and resolve any commercial or operational issues that arise for merchants to ensure their satisfaction.

Required skills and qualifications

• Sales and negotiation:
