Job Description

Registrar for University Level

Educational Qualification:

  • Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university.
  • Preferably with a Ph.D. in a relevant field.

Experience:

  • At least 15 years of administrative experience in a university or educational institution of higher education, out of which at least 8 years should be in a Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.
  • OR
  • Comparable experience in research establishments and/or other institutions of higher education.
  • OR
  • 15 years of administrative experience in government/PSUs with adequate exposure to academic administration.

Age Limit:

  • Usually not exceeding 57 years at the time of appointment

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of university governance, UGC/AICTE/NAAC/NIRF compliance, examination systems, and student services.
  • Proficient in administration, legal matters, statutory compliance, and office automation tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage student registration and enrollment processes, including course selection, scheduling, and tuition payment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including demographic information, academic transcripts, and enrollment status.
  • Coordinate course scheduling, classroom assignments, and academic calendars.
  • Ensure compliance with academic policies, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, faculty, and staff on registration procedures and academic requirements.
  • Process requests for transcripts, grade reports, and other academic documents.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to coordinate course offerings and curriculum changes.
  • Oversee graduation processes, including degree audits, diploma distribution, and commencement ceremonies.
  • Manage academic probation, suspension, and reinstatement procedures.
  • Assist with the implementation of student information systems and technology solutions.
  • Prepare and distribute class schedules, course catalogs, and academic calendars.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of student records and sensitive information.
  • Collaborate with other administrative offices, such as admissions, financial aid, and student services, to ensure coordinated support for students.
