Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse in the East Campus Recovery Room at UC San Diego Health, you will be providing skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your role will involve assessing and providing nursing actions autonomously, in line with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. You are expected to exercise independent judgment within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. - Assess and provide nursing actions autonomously based on competence and professional expertise. - Practice autonomously in accordance with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. - Exercise independent judgment within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. **Qualifications Required:** - Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. - RN License issued by the State of California. - BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date. - PALS certification (must be obtained during 1st year of employment for new employees). - Minimum of one year recent acute care PACU experience or ICU, PICU, NICU, or ER nursing experience. - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients. **Preferred Qualifications:** - BSN - CPAN and/or CAPA certification In addition to the qualifications mentioned, you must be available for 1 weekend On Call per month, weeknight Call Shifts, and 1 Major and 1 Minor holiday call shift. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Selected candidates may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
