Job Summary:

TheRefractory Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

1. Refractory & Insulation Work Supervision

• Supervise the

  installation, repair, and maintenance of refractory linings

  in furnaces, boilers, kilns, and industrial equipment.
• Oversee the execution of

  hot & cold insulation

  for pipelines, equipment, and structures.

• Verify the correct selection and application of

  refractory materials

  such as fire bricks, castables, ceramic fibre, and insulating concretes.

2. Team Management & Coordination

• Assign tasks and oversee the performance of refractory and insulation workers.
• Coordinate with site teams to meet project deadlines.
• Train and guide workers on refractory installation techniques and safety practices.

3. Quality Control & Compliance

• Inspect refractory and insulation works to ensure high-quality workmanship.
• Identify defects or failures in

  refractory linings and insulation systems

  and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with

  engineering standards, project specifications, and industry regulations (ASTM, API, ISO, BS codes)

  .

4. Safety & Risk Management

• Enforce safety protocols for refractory works,

  hot & cold insulation

  ,
• Ensure workers follow proper safety procedures when working at height and handling refractory materials.
• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to mitigate hazards.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records of refractory materials, manpower, and project progress.
• Prepare and submit

  daily/weekly work reports

  to project management.
• Communicate effectively with engineers and clients regarding work progress and challenges.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Qualification:

  Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering.

• Experience:

  Minimum

  5 years

  in refractory works,

  hot & cold insulation

  , and

  in-situ casting of cold insulation

  .

• Technical Knowledge:

• Hands-on experience withrefractory materials

  (fire bricks, castables, ceramic fibres, etc.).
• Strong understanding of

  insulation materials

  (PIR, PUR, rock wool, cellular glass, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret

  refractory and insulation drawings

  .

• Soft Skills:

• Strong leadership and ability to supervise teams effectively.

• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with teams and management.

DesiredExperience:

• Work experience in

  oil & gas, petrochemical, power plants, or industrial projects

  .
• Familiarity with

  thermal performance calculations

  and refractory testing procedures.
