Role & responsibilities

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain OpenShift Container Platform clusters in on-premise or cloud environments.
  • Perform operational tasks including cluster patching, upgrades, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Install, configure, and maintain RHEL and other Linux-based servers, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Manage user accounts, file systems, storage volumes, and system services on Linux servers.
  • Implement OS-level hardening, patch management, and performance tuning on RHEL systems.
  • Automate administrative and operational tasks using Ansible, Bash, or Python scripting.
  • Monitor cluster and OS health, resource utilization, and performance metrics.
  • Configure and manage Linux networking services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, routing, firewall rules, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot OS, network, and container-level issues in coordination with other teams.
  • Implement and manage containerized applications, namespaces, projects, and user access policies in OpenShift.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, application, and infrastructure teams for seamless application deployments.
  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience with RHEL 7/8/9 and Linux system administration.
  • Good understanding of Linux OS internals (boot process, services, permissions, systemd, etc.).
  • Experience managing Linux networking and firewall configurations.
  • Experience with basic CI/CD integration and supporting application teams on OpenShift.
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

  • Red Hat OpenShift or RHEL certification (DO180/DO280) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive and self-driven attitude
