Roles & Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot RHEL servers (versions 7, 8, and potentially 9).
• Monitor system performance and implement optimizations for CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network.
• Apply security patches, implement hardening measures, and ensure compliance with security policies and banking industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO 27001).
• Plan, test, and deploy OS patches and updates in a controlled manner.
• Implement and manage robust backup and disaster recovery solutions for RHEL systems.
• Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, Ansible) to automate routine tasks, deployments, and configurations.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to RHEL, including network, storage, and application-level problems.
• Configure and manage monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana) to proactively identify and address system issues.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Work closely with development, quality assurance, and other IT teams to support application deployments and infrastructure initiatives.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for critical incident response as required.

Required Skills:

• 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience as a RHEL Administrator in an enterprise environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7, 8) administration, including iStrong scripting skills in Bash; proficiency in Python or Ansible is a significant plus.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, firewalls (firewalld, iptables), and network troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with LVM, NFS, CIFS, and SAN/NAS storage concepts.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
• Understanding of Linux security best practices, vulnerability management, and access control.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience working in an IT environment for a bank or a financial services company is highly desirable.
