Job Summary
The Real Estate Photographer is responsible for capturing high-quality photographs and/or videos of residential and commercial properties for marketing purposes. This role plays a key part in presenting listings in the best possible light to attract potential buyers and renters. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for composition, strong technical photography skills, and experience in real estate or architectural photography.
Key Responsibilities
- Photograph residential and commercial properties, ensuring all features and selling points are highlighted.
- Capture both interior and exterior images with attention to lighting, staging, and composition.
- Edit and retouch photos to enhance image quality, including color correction, lens distortion removal, and exposure adjustments.
- Deliver finished images to clients within specified turnaround times (typically 24–48 hours).
- Operate drone equipment (if certified) for aerial photography and videography.
- Create property videos or virtual tours, including walk-throughs or 360° imagery (optional based on skill set).
- Coordinate with real estate agents, homeowners, or staging professionals to ensure the property is photo-ready.
- Maintain and transport photography equipment in a safe and professional manner.
- Organize and archive photography files for future use or access.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a real estate photographer or portfolio of related work.
- Proficiency with DSLR or mirrorless camera systems, lighting equipment, and photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Strong understanding of real estate marketing trends and what buyers are looking for in listing imagery.
- Knowledge of HDR photography and bracketing techniques.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple shoots per day.
- FAA Part 107 certification for drone operation (preferred, if aerial shots are required).
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
- Experience with virtual tour platforms (Matterport, Zillow 3D, etc.).
- Knowledge of real estate platforms and MLS photo guidelines.
Working Conditions
- On-location work at homes or commercial properties.
- Occasional weekend or evening shoots based on client availability.
- Carrying and setting up equipment indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
