Role & responsibilities

Job Title: R&D Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated R&D Officer to join our food business. The

successful candidate will be responsible for handling the new product development work, including

formulating recipes, conducting trials, and working on the shelf life of the products. The R&D Officer

will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization stays competitive by developing innovative and

high-quality products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing new product concepts and formulations, based on market trends and customer demand.
  • Conducting trials to test new product concepts and formulations, and making necessary adjustments to

recipes and processes.

  • Ensuring that all products meet regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Working on the shelf life of the products and developing strategies to extend the shelf life of products.
  • Keeping up-to-date with new technologies and innovations in the food industry, and providing

recommendations for improvements.

  • Collaborating with other departments, including production, and quality control, to ensure that

products are developed and produced in accordance with company standards.

  • Maintaining accurate records of all R&D activities, including recipes, trial results, and product

specifications.

  • Providing regular reports to senior management on the status of R&D activities, including updates on

new product development and progress on existing projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in food science, food technology, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of food science, including ingredient functionality, processing, and formulation. •

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical

issues.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals

at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and

priorities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer software applications.
