Position Title: R&D Manager

Division:

Job Purpose:

To design, develop, and validate automotive lighting electronic systems in line with IATF 16949 requirements, customer specifications, and regulatory standards. The role focuses on microcontroller-based designs, PCB hardware development, EMI/EMC compliance, and robust product development for the automotive and mobility industry.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs):

• Design and development of automotive lighting electronics (LED drivers, controllers, and power circuits).
• Microcontroller-based hardware and firmware coordination for lighting applications.
• Schematic design, PCB layout review, and validation as per automotive standards.
• Ensure EMI/EMC protection design and compliance with AIS, ISO, CISPR, and OEM requirements.
• Conduct DFMEA, Design Reviews, and Risk Analysis as per IATF 16949.
• Coordinate with testing agencies for EMC, environmental, and reliability testing.
• Support APQP activities including design validation, PPAP, and change management.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams (Quality, Production, and Purchase).
• Benchmarking and adoption of new technologies for automotive lighting and mobility solutions.
• Troubleshooting field failures and supporting corrective actions (8D, RCA).

Technical Skills & Competencies:

• Hands-on experience in

  PCB hardware design

  , schematic capture, and layout guidelines.
• Expertise in

  EMI/EMC protection techniques

  (filtering, grounding, shielding, surge/ESD protection).
• Knowledge of

  automotive lighting standards

  and regulations.
• Experience with

  LED drivers, power electronics, and thermal management

  .
• Understanding of

  IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, Control Plan

  .
• Familiarity with

  automotive testing standards

  (vibration, thermal shock, humidity, EMC).
• Exposure to

  two-wheeler, three-wheeler, and passenger vehicle (mobility) industry

  requirements.

Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Embedded Systems.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in automotive lighting or mobility electronics.
• Exposure to OEM and Tier-1 customer interactions.
• Knowledge of functional safety basics (ISO 26262 preferred).
