Job Description

transcribes, types, and manages diagnostic imaging reports (X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound) for physicians, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely delivery, while also handling patient records, scheduling, and coordinating with radiologists and techs, requiring strong typing, medical terminology knowledge, and attention to detail in a fast-paced healthcare setting

Transcription & Typing:
Accurately type dictated or scanned radiology reports, including findings and impressions, from various imaging modalities.
Record Management:
Organize, file, and maintain physical and digital patient records and reports.
Coordination:
Liaise with radiologists, technologists, and other staff for report clarification and workflow efficiency.
Administrative Support:
Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle general clerical tasks for the department.
Quality Control:
Ensure reports are error-free, meet medical standards, and comply with confidentiality (HIPAA).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Excellent typing speed and accuracy (proficiency in typing software/hardware).
Strong command of medical terminology, especially radiology.
Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
Familiarity with hospital software/systems (e.g., Asteria) is a plus.
Experience in a medical/radiology transcription setting preferred.

Work Environment:

Fast-paced environment within a hospital or diagnostic center.
May involve day, night, or rotational shifts.
Requires adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
