Quality Technician (Rugs, Home Textiles)

As a Quality Technician at Ross India Private Limited, a subsidiary of Ross Stores, Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet and exceed Ross quality standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to conduct quality assessments, identify issues, and drive process improvements. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our product quality. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop a deep understanding of Ross product standards and expectations to align with company goals. - Conduct technical and quality assessments of products to ensure compliance with established criteria. - Log quality issues meticulously and create detailed reports categorized by supplier and product type. - Escalate critical quality issues to the Quality Manager and Sourcing Teams, providing feedback for solutions and process improvements. - Collaborate with merchandising and production teams to address potential quality concerns during development stages. - Communicate Ross standards and expectations clearly to suppliers, ensuring alignment on quality benchmarks and addressing issues promptly. - Conduct regular training sessions for suppliers to ensure understanding and adherence to Ross standards, fostering continuous improvement. - Review data to identify trends by supplier and product, inform action plans, and create viable product guidelines with support from the Quality Manager & Sourcing team. - Travel to factories regularly to conduct quality audits, discuss Corrective Action Plans, review production, and assess vendor QA/QC processes. **Qualifications Required:** - 5-8 years of experience in a similar quality assurance role, preferably within Rugs or Home Textiles. - Diploma or degree in Textile Engineering or related field required. Additional related certifications are a plus. - Experience working within a retail liaison office required, with preference given to those who have worked with US/European retailers. - Proven knowledge of industry testing standards, product inspection processes (AQL, point count systems), and experience working with testing & inspection agencies (e.g., BV, SGS, ITS). - Excellent spoken and written English skills. - Strong proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
