This pivotal role is suited for a professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for quality, who will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure our products meet and exceed Ross’ quality standards and expectations. The Quality Technician will report directly to our Quality Manager. Responsibilities include: Developing a deep understanding of the Ross product standards and expectations, ensuring alignment with company goals Conducting technical and quality assessment of product to ensure compliance with established criteria Log quality issues meticulously and create detailed reports categorized by supplier and product type Proactively escalating critical quality issues to Quality Manager and Sourcing Teams. Providing feedback to internal teams and suppliers to support solutions and process improvements. Collaborate with merchandising and production teams to pre-emptively address potential quality concerns during development stages. Clearly communicating Ross standards and expectations to suppliers; ensuring parties are aligned on quality benchmarks. Remedying issues as needed. Conducting regular training sessions for suppliers to ensure understanding and adherence to Ross standards. Establish feedback loop with suppliers to encourage continuous improvement. Reviewing data to identify trends by supplier and by product to inform action plans and create viable product guidelines with support from Quality Manager & Sourcing team. Regular travel to factories to conduct quality audits, discuss Corrective Action Plans, review production, assess vendor QA/QC processes, etc. Requirements: 5-8 years experience in similar quality assurance role required, preferably within Rugs or Home Textiles. Diploma or degree in Textile Engineering or related field required. Additional related certifications iare a plus. Experience working within a retail liaison office required. (US/European retailer preferred). Proven knowledge of industry testing standards, product inspection processes (AQL, point count systems), and experience working with testing & inspection agencies (e.g., BV, SGS, ITS). This assignment is approximately 6 months in duration with potential to extend. The Merchandiser provides expertise on all aspects of the Inda Sourcing for Home Hardgoods and Textiles product categories and is a strategic partner to our United States-Based Merchant and Product Sourcing teams. This role will identify, build, and foster strong relationships with new factories and suppliers to drive our product strategy. This person will come with a strong existing network of suppliers and proven ability to build, develop and execute product vision. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Driving sourcing strategy focused on building a strong vendor base to support the merchandising strategies. Sources new suppliers to fulfill identified sourcing needs or opportunities Grow/Maintain relationships with suppliers, factories, mills that could be potential partners for Ross Develop options to address specific merchandising needs and priorities.
