About the Role

The Quality & Production Engineer will play a key role in overseeing the manufacturing of mechanical systems across multiple vendor and factory locations in the Delhi NCR region. This site-based position requires regular factory visits to ensure smooth production operations, adherence to quality standards, and timely execution of fabrication and assembly activities. The role involves coordinating logistics across vendors, conducting detailed quality inspections, ensuring assembly accuracy as per design requirements, and providing structured feedback and reports to the design and product development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage production activities at vendors and partner manufacturers across Delhi NCR.
• Coordinate logistics for transporting manufactured components and subassemblies between vendor sites and Takachars facility.
• Conduct quality inspections of all components, assemblies, and vendor deliveries as per engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ensure mechanical parts are fabricated, assembled, and maintained properly at the assembly site.
• Supervise pre-dispatch testing and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) in coordination with internal teams.
• Prepare inspection and test reports and share findings with the design and product development teams for necessary actions.
• Work closely with fabrication and assembly teams to resolve production issues and implement corrective measures.
• Support continuous improvement in production efficiency, quality consistency, and vendor performance.
• Coordinate with the design team to ensure feedback loops for design or manufacturing improvements.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering (minimum 3 years of experience in production quality) OR a Diploma in mechanical engineering ((minimum 5 years experience)
• 45 years of experience in mechanical product manufacturing, preferably with fabrication and assembly processes.
• Strong knowledge of quality inspection, vendor development, and mechanical assembly procedures.
• Hands-on experience with factory or shop floor operations and familiarity with engineering drawings.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly processes.
• Understanding of quality inspection tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges, etc.) and quality standards.
• Familiarity with material grades (MS, SS) and surface finishing processes.
• Experience with process quality assurance, FAT protocols, and dimensional inspection.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D, etc.).
• Competence in MS Excel or Google Sheets for data tracking and reporting.
• Working knowledge of ERP or production tracking systems.
• Basic understanding of design and modelling software (e.g., Onshape, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD).
