5. Qualification: Diploma/ B.Tech- Metallurgy (Preferred)
6. Must Have:- Experience of Handling Metallurgical Lab Equipment and Carburizing component inspection.
7. Industry: Iron/ Steel/ Heat Treatment Suppliers

Job Responsibilities:

Steel Inspection:

Incoming Steel Sample preparation and checking.

Operation of spectrometer for chemistry analysis.

Steel macro inspection & step-down test.

Inclusion rating analysis in steel bar.

Grain size sample preparation and checking.

Jominy and quench test, tensil and impact samples preparation & testing.

Carburizing Component Inspection

Surface and core hardness, effective case depth.

Microstructural analysis carburizing surface & subsurface microstructure.

Retained Austenite, NMTP, IGO, Decarb Grain size.

Induction Hardening Inspection

Induction hardening microstructure, induction hardening pattern, HAZ, Surface hardness, ECD etc.

Nitriding Inspection

White layer inspection, porosity inspection at white layer, ECD using Vicker hardness at nitriding zone and microstructure at core.

Forging Inspection

Microstructure phase analysis, forging grain flow, forging defect and hardness.

Forging grain flow analysis.

Forging Defect analysis.

Casting Inspection (spheroidal cast iron)

Hardness inspection in Brinell, Casting surface defect analysis shrinkage and porosity, Phase analysis of casting, Carbide inspection, Nodularity checking & nodule analysis.

Other Activities

Daily calibration of hardness tester.

On going trend chart preparation for carburizing process case depth, core hardness & surface hardness, retained austenite.

Moisture analysis of incoming consumable products by Carl Fischer titration.

Preparation of metallurgical certificate for PDIR on shift basis.

Millipore analysis.

MPI checking as per requirement.

Phosphating both parameters & part coating analysis.
