Role Overview:

Assistant Manager - Quality Engineer

This role ensures adherence to internal standards and customer specifications while supporting continuous improvement in product and process quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with

  ISO, BIS, UL, CE

  , and other regulatory and customer-specific standards.
• Monitor and analyze

  in-process and final inspection data

  for cables, ensuring defect-free product delivery.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) for internal failures and customer complaints.
• Coordinate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to drive improvements in material quality and process stability.
• Supervise quality inspectors and lab personnel in day-to-day inspection and testing activities.
• Maintain calibration of test equipment and ensure timely internal audits of quality systems.
• Implement statistical quality control techniques such as

  SPC, MSA, and FMEA

  .
• Prepare and maintain

  quality documentation, reports, SOPs, and control plans

  .
• Participate in

  customer audits, third-party inspections, and quality reviews

  .
• Support new product development (NPD) through qualification testing, trials, and validation.
• Provide technical support in raw material evaluation and supplier quality initiatives.

Key Requirements:

• Education:

  B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Polymer Engineering (preferred).

• Experience:

  4-8 years in quality function within the

  cable, wire, or polymer-based

  manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of

  cable testing standards

  (e.g., IS, IEC, ASTM).
• Familiarity with lab equipment such as HV test sets, tensile testers, elongation testers, aging ovens, etc.
• Proficiency in tools like

  8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, SPC, Minitab

  (preferred).
• Experience using ERP systems such as

  SAP

  for quality documentation and reporting.
• Ability to lead internal teams and interact confidently with customers and external auditors.
