Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Inspect and test:

    Conduct regular inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to identify defects early.
  • Monitor performance:

    Use statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis to monitor and analyze quality performance throughout the production cycle.
  • Interpret data:

    Analyze quality data to identify trends, pinpoint areas for improvement, and create detailed reports for management.

Problem solving and improvement

  • Conduct root cause analysis:

    Investigate product or production issues to determine the root cause using tools like Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and the 5 Whys technique.
  • Develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA):

    Recommend and implement solutions to prevent the recurrence of identified issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement:

    Lead and contribute to process improvement efforts, often utilizing methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing to reduce waste and boost efficiency.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Work with design and production:

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and R&D, to embed quality benchmarks into the product development process from the very beginning.
  • Manage suppliers:

    Engage with suppliers to verify that raw materials and components meet the company's quality standards.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Formal education:

    A bachelor's/Diploma degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, and Electrical) is typically required.
  • Analytical skills:

    The ability to analyse data, interpret trends, and solve complex problems systematically is essential.
  • Technical expertise:

    Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, quality tools (SPC, FMEA), and industry-specific processes is necessary.
  • Communication skills:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital for collaborating with teams, presenting reports, and interacting with stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail:

    A meticulous and detail-oriented approach is critical for ensuring compliance and identifying flaws.
  • Computer proficiency:

    Familiarity with relevant software, including quality management systems (QMS), statistical analysis software, and database management.
