Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Conduct inspections of car body surfaces
before, during, and after
coating/painting application including verification of
surface cleanliness
,
roughness
, and adherence to
application procedures
.
Ensure the correct
paint or coating materials
are used by verifying
Product Data Sheets (PDS)
and
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
.
Confirm that surface preparation (e.g.,
blasting and cleaning
) meets project or customer specifications.
Monitor the
coating application process
to ensure it complies with specified techniques and quality standards.
Perform quality tests such as:
Dry Film Thickness (DFT)
Gloss measurement
Adhesion tests
Visual inspections
Prepare and maintain
inspection reports
,
test records
, and relevant quality documentation.
Communicate any non-conformities or quality concerns to the
painting/production team
and recommend
corrective actions
.
Ensure that
inspection tools and equipment
are calibrated as per schedule and maintain
calibration records
.

Preferred candidate profile

Understanding of coating types, surface preparation methods & application techniques.
Good hand in using various inspection tools and equipment, such as Dry film thickness gauge, profile gauges, spectrophotometer and adhesion testers.
Ability to effectively communicate inspection findings, both verbally and in writing.
Identifying and addressing coating defects or issues that arise during the painting process.
