Quality Engineer

As a QA Automation Engineer at Morningstar in Mumbai, India, your primary responsibility will be to develop and enhance automation frameworks to ensure the quality of financial applications on the International Wealth Platform team. You will play a crucial role in contributing to the delivery of exceptional products by leveraging your technical expertise. Your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining robust UI automation frameworks utilizing tools such as Nightwatch, CypressIO, WebdriverIO, and Playwright. You will also be responsible for contributing to the building and enhancement of automation frameworks to make them reusable and maintainable. Additionally, you will perform API testing, both manual and automation, using the Java Rest-Assured library and leverage JavaScript/TypeScript libraries like JQuery/Angular to enhance testing capabilities. Proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript as programming languages is essential for this role. Collaboration with product managers, developers, and other QA team members is crucial to design test strategies and automation plans. You will also be responsible for integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless quality checks across the software lifecycle. Manual and automated testing for both UI and APIs will be conducted by you to ensure comprehensive coverage. Participation in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, is expected from you to contribute to team alignment and delivery. You will also be responsible for documenting and reporting test results, defects, and progress to stakeholders effectively. Requirements for this role include a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, with a total experience of 3-4 years in Quality Assurance and Testing and relevant hands-on experience of at least 2 years in Automation. Proficiency in automation tools like Nightwatch, CypressIO, WebdriverIO, or Playwright, along with strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java programming languages, is necessary. Experience in developing or enhancing test automation frameworks, familiarity with API testing, and exposure to Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and TestRail are also required.
