Quality Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced quality inspection engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the inspection of machining, fabrication, and heavy sheet metal parts. This role requires hands-on experience with a variety of inspection instruments and a thorough understanding of quality assurance processes in heavy industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality inspections of machining, fabrication, and sheet metal heavy parts.
• Read and interpret manufacturing part drawings to determine the appropriate inspection methods.
• Understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles .
• Use basic inspection instruments such as vernier calipers, OD & ID micrometers, 2D height gauges, DFT meters, surface roughness testers, and Trimos.
• Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and FARO/Romer arms for precise measurements will be an added advantage
• Execute inspection processes using the SAP QM module.
• Develop and implement quality inspection plans and procedures.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records and reports.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in quality inspection within heavy industries.
• Proficient in handling inspection instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, DFT meters, surface roughness testers, and Trimos.
• Experience operating CMM and FARO/Romer arms is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing part drawings and inspection methods.
• Solid knowledge of GD&T principles.
• Familiarity with the SAP QM module is an added advantage.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Requirements:

• One year Service Bond

• 3 months Notice period

• Must have owned 2-wheeler

• Ready to work on site at supplier end

• Working: 6 days a week, only Sunday off

• Salary Structure: Fixed + Variable (on performance basis)
