Quality Control Engineer(Building Construction)

Job Title: Senior Quality Control (QC) Engineer Building Construction Location : Chennai Experience : 5 to 8 Years Industry : Civil Construction / Infrastructure / Real Estate Qualification : B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior QC Engineer to lead and manage the quality assurance and quality control processes across our building construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering practices, quality management systems, and regulatory standards to ensure construction activities meet project specifications, safety norms, and industry benchmarks. Key Responsibilities: Lead site-based QC operations and ensure adherence to quality standards across all construction phases. Review and approve construction method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and material submittals. Inspect and verify construction work including RCC works, masonry, waterproofing, plastering, finishes, MEP coordination, etc. Monitor contractor and vendor compliance with project quality specifications and applicable codes. Manage internal and third-party inspections, testing procedures, and audits. Maintain complete and accurate documentation of QC inspections, material test reports (MTR), and non-conformance reports (NCR). Identify recurring quality issues and coordinate with site teams for timely resolution and preventive actions. Train and mentor junior QA/QC engineers and site supervisors on quality standards and procedures. Participate in client and consultant meetings related to quality assurance and corrective measures. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, local building codes, and safety regulations. Key Skills Required: In-depth knowledge of construction quality standards, QA/QC procedures, and building codes. Proficiency in reviewing structural and architectural drawings and specifications. Strong understanding of materials testing (concrete, steel, aggregates, etc.). Experience in managing site audits and preparing quality-related reports. Skilled in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quality management tools. Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
