Job Description

Liaising with colleagues across the Mobile Innovation community and Network Services to give guidance on the technology within their own area of expertise.
Responsible for the integration plan, test specifications and scripts, test execution, defect management and the coordination of the environment design and deployment.
Performing cross functional coordination of BT (operations, design, skill centres) and supplier resources to take responsibility for deliverables and provide leadership to support project success.
Taking accountability for the verification of new or modified systems or services introduced in the live environment as part of the handover to operations.
Co-ordinating risk analysis and risk management strategy, ensuring that potential risks and issues and their associated mitigation and actions are communicated and agreed with the project owners and stakeholders to ensure informed decision making
Building and maintaining close working relationships with off shore partners, contractors, and 3rd party vendors. Coaching and developing of other members of the team with a focus on developing test engineers.
Developing an understanding of the network products and systems within the department, and a broad understanding of interfacing systems.
Adhering to, influence, and enhance the appropriate standards and policies and provide guidance to the wider project community.
Ensure all transition criteria are met and signed off by the relevant stakeholders and quality gates are tracked, communicated and signed off.

The skills & experience you need

Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Electronics, Computing, Telecommunications.
Good knowledge within mobile communications industry with knowledge of 5G (EN-DC), LTE, WCDMA, GSM, GPRS, UMTS and HSxPA.
Experience of integration & acceptance testing of telecommunications services and equipment.
Able to use tracing tools such as Nemo and XCAL
Experience of testing E2E network services (e.g., Voice, Data, SMS, MMS), with good knowledge of Core/IN network elements.
Must be a significant experience in multi-vendor Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions.
Understand functional and non-functional test approaches within a Lab environment.
Have an in-depth understanding of testing best practice and assurance governance.
Have experience of implementation of test automation to improve the way we test.
Leading projects assigned by the Test Manager with minimal supervision to deliver the project on time and on quality and contributing to the teams overall objectives.
