Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Quality Management System (QMS) Development: Develop, implement, and manage the companys Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, IEC, UL, and other relevant certifications. Team Leadership: Lead and manage the quality department, including quality engineers, technicians, and inspectors. Provide mentorship, training, and development opportunities to build a high-performing team. Quality Assurance & Control: Oversee the entire quality assurance process, including raw material inspection, in-process quality checks, final product testing, and customer feedback analysis. Ensure that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory standards. Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process using methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to reduce defects, improve yield, and optimize efficiency. Inspection & Testing: Oversee all product inspections and testing procedures (electrical, mechanical, visual, etc.), ensuring products pass all quality tests (e.g., I-V curve testing, EL testing, mechanical stress tests) before shipment. Non-Conformance Management: Manage the non-conformance process, including investigating and resolving quality issues, initiating corrective actions (CAPA), and ensuring that quality improvements are sustained. Supplier Quality Management: Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components meets specifications. Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, and collaborate on quality improvements when necessary. Customer Quality Feedback: Analyze customer complaints, warranty claims, and returns to identify quality issues, propose corrective actions, and work cross-functionally with engineering and production teams to prevent recurrence. Audit & Compliance: Lead internal and external audits of the manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental regulations. Prepare documentation and reports for audits, and ensure that the company is always audit-ready. Reporting & Documentation: Provide regular quality performance reports to senior management, detailing key performance indicators (KPIs), defect rates, process improvements, and cost reductions. Training & Development: Develop and implement quality training programs for all relevant staff, ensuring the team is fully knowledgeable about quality procedures, standards, and expectations. Customer & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure products meet customer specifications and all regulatory requirements, including industry standards (IEC, UL, CE, etc.), environmental regulations, and safety standards. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the manufacturing process, including quality, safety, and compliance risks, and develop contingency plans to ensure continuity and product quality. Skills & Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or a related field. Masters degree or equivalent qualifications in quality management is a plus. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a quality management role, with at least 3 years in a managerial position , preferably in solar module manufacturing or a similar high-tech manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of solar module manufacturing processes , including solar cell production, lamination, testing, and assembly. Proven experience in implementing and managing Quality Management Systems (QMS) , such as ISO 9001, and knowledge of industry standards (IEC, UL, etc.). Expertise in statistical analysis tools, statistical process control (SPC) , root cause analysis , failure analysis , and other quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of product testing techniques for solar modules, including I-V curve testing, electrical performance testing, environmental testing, and visual inspections. Hands-on experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and quality management software (e.g., ERP, QMS systems). Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment, balancing multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other office tools. Preferred Qualifications: Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification. Experience in lean manufacturing , statistical process control (SPC) , and total quality management (TQM) . Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience in managing supplier quality and conducting supplier audits.
